A PATTERN 1897 PIQUET WEIGHT GRV INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, circa 1918, with plain 32 in. double-fullered steel blade numbered 1195 on back, otherwise unmarked, steel hilt with pierced guard with GRV cypher, black fish-skin grip bound with copper wire, with its black painted steel scabbard with two suspension rings, blade stained, hilt generally worn, guard dented, scabbard with some minor dents and badly painted, paint scratched, 39 3/4 in. overall
